WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The town of Waynesville wants to achieve carbon neutrality in 26 years. To achieve that goal of net-zero carbon emissions, town leaders are launching an Environmental Sustainability Board.
It will look at green energy initiatives like solar paneling, the use of electric vehicles and charging stations, even reducing the use of plastics.
Council member Chuck Dickson, who is initiating the board, wants to fill 11 seats with expertise in the field.
